Medications
HOW TO ARCHIVE MEDS
To archive meds:
1. Open a new note
2. Go to the Medications page
3. Tick the med to be archived
4. Enter end date, reason for archiving, notes
5. Click Submit
The details of the archived medications can be found under ARCHIVED MEDICATIONS tab.
HOW TO CHECK PRESCRIPTIONS TRANSACTIONS
Medication Transaction (INDIVIDUAL): On EMR ALL NOTE, blue hyperlink-Med transactions OR open a note, on medications page> Medication Transactions Tab.
Medication Management (PER PRACTICE): ADMIN > MED SETUP > MED MNGT. Search for patint. Click blue hyperlink or prescriptions box.
HOW TO PRINT MEDICATIONS
For CURRENT MEDICATIONS (2 ways):
1. Click the INSTRUCTIONS button in an open note, and on the upper portion of the pop up screen, uncheck the boxes for other information (except for medications).
Click CREATE PATIENT INSTRUCTIONS button on the upper right to print. See attached screenshot for reference.
2. Search patient > Right click, Patient Mgt > Printout > Shrink other tabs except medications > CTRL+P to print
HOW TO ADD A RETAIL PHARMACY
a. Go to Patient Management > Pharmacies
b. Select Pharmacy Type: Retail
c. Enter the zipcode d. Click SEARCH PHARMACIES. Pharmacies registered with Surescripts will populate.
4. Click SELECT for the correct retail Pharmacy. Kindly ensure that the pharmacy is selected from the database and not manually entered. It is advised to use the zip code filter then click SEARCH PHARMACIES button. Also, only pharmacies registered with Surescripts will populate in the database.
HOW TO SELECT A SURESCRIPTS MAIL ORDER PHARMACY
a. Go to Patient Management > Insurance > Pharmacy Coverage > Tick the Default checkbox (if applicable).
b. Go to Patient Management > Pharmacies > Select Pharmacy Type: Mail Order > Type in the keyword e.g. "Walgreens" or "Prime" under PHARMACY NAME
c. Click SEARCH PHARMACIES. Pharmacies registered with Surescripts will populate (proceed to step E if no pharmacy populates to manually add pharmacy).
d. Click SELECT for the correct mail order Pharmacy.
"If the pharmacy does not populate, use the workflow below to add it manually (see the video attached).
e. Click ADD NEW PHARMACY
f. Fill the necessary pharmacy info e.g. Pharmacy Name, phone and fax number
g. Click ADD PHARMACY. This pharmacy will now be available as an option in the PHARMACY dropdown."
