Card Scanner

SYMPTOMS: POSSIBLE RESOLUTION
Card Scanner does not turn on even though everything is plugged in:
1. Check the USB connection on both ends (card scanner and PC). If secured unplug and re-plug on both ends.
2. Ask the client what type of Card Scanner they have by its description. If they have the R2 or 800 DXN continue with the below steps. If its an old card scanning client with an IDR they may need to buy a USB 2.0 hub or a specialized cable form Accuant.
3. Plug card scanner into a different USB Port.
4. Restart the computer with the card scanner unplugged. Wait till Connect loads (you will receive an error file.lib not found, its ok) now plug the scanner into a different USB Port.
5. Check Device Manager to see if the CSSN Card Scanner is present under USB Devices. If it’s not uninstall Acuant software and Drivers. Restart PC and reinstall the software
6. If all else fails contact acuant support 213-607-1827 or support@acuant.com
Card Scanner Software Not Opening:
If the connect software does not open start by checking your antivirus and antispyware. Ask the user if they are using Webroot since it is likely the cause. After unblocked uninstall connect and reinstall
Card Scanner Installs but does not display in Device Manager and is inaccessible:
1. Disconnect the Card scanner and plug it into another USB port on the back of the computer.
2. Uninstall Acuant from Programs and Features and reinstall.
3. If all else fails contact acuant support 213-607-1827 or support@acuant.com
Connect software doesn’t displays Drivers License and Insurance. Meaning that either Drivers License or Insurance displays but not the other:

Card Scanner Lib File Missing Error:
1. Unplug card scanner, restart computer, plug card scanner into another usb port and try connect again.
2. Uninstall Acuant from Programs and Features then reinstall.
3. If all else fails contact Acuant Support 213-607-1827 or support@acuant.com
Card Scanner will scan but not save scanned image:
1. Unplug card scanner, restart computer, plug card scanner into another usb port and try connect again.
2. Uninstall Acuant from Programs and Features then reinstall.

Card Scanner Access Key Required: Key is missing:
To get the access key you will need to add it on your initial scan. Right clicking on the Mediscan Connect icon from your task bar then click on "Access Key", copy and paste the ID on the scanner access key area. You would only need this on your initial scan and it will just automatically pre-populate going forward or on your next next scan. Click on "get data from scanner" once the key is added.
