MIPS
MIPS is the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System designed to tie payments to quality and cost efficient care, drive improvement in care processes and health outcomes, increase the use of healthcare information, and reduce the cost of care.

MIPS rewards value and outcome based on provider or practice performance.

Provider or practice performance is made up of 4 Performance Categories that are combined to make up the MIPS score.
Any provider deemed eligible by the QPP lookup tool on QPP. CMS. GOV/lookup. In order to use this tool, one must first know the provider's NPI and which practice they belong to.
How to check a provider's participation status:
1. https://qpp.cms.gov/participation-lookup?npi
2. Enter the provider's National Provider Identifier (NPI) number and click Check All Years.'

3. Make sure the selected Performance Year is the current year
